The EU Council decided on 25 May to extend the EU Security Sector Reform (SSR) mission in Guinea Bissau for a period of four months, until 30 September 2010. A final decision on EU engagement in guinea-bissau is to be taken by July 2010, following on a strategic review and on developments on the ground.
The EU SSR Guinea Bissau was launched in June 2008 to provide local authorities with advice and assistance on the security sector reform.
