The United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) announced the allocation of 20 million dollars to peacebuilding in the Central African Republic. This funding aims, according to the Assistant Secretary-General for Peacebuilding Support, Judy Cheng-Hopkins, to "deliver peace dividends to all people by increasing security, stimulating economic revitalization and strengthening justice and human rights."
In the area of security sector reform, these "will provide start-up funding to support the construction of two of the four barracks needed to support 10 police contingents."
