Angola: Parliament Approves Law On Police Ranks, Distinctives

The National Assembly (Angolan Parliament) approved Tuesday the Bill on ranks and distinctives(emblems, symbols, badges)in the National Police, thus restructuring the grades of hierarchy in the corporation, adjusting them to compared legislation.

The new diploma, approved with 99 votes in favour, proposes the designation of the top grade of the hierarchy in the National Police as grade of "commissioner", instead of "class of general officers", thus avoiding eventual confusions with the ranks of the same grades in the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
